A pause on the trail…

An all-female art collective has been commissioned to mark the 25thanniversary of the 33-mile Irwell Sculpture Trail in Lancashire.

Brass Art - Anneké Pettican, Chara Lewis and Kristin Mojsiewicz - were asked by the University of Huddersfield to create an exhibition, and the result,that-which-is-not, is now on display at the Bury Art Museum and Sculpture Centre, including Still Life, pictured here.

Ten years ago the collective was commissioned to make a piece for the trail, entitled From the Tower Falls the Shadow, and the new work revisists objects and sites that inspired them then, from Hogarth’s prints to neon lungs, 3D-printed hands – the artists’ own - blown glass objects and a miniature 19th Century bone and ivory pagoda. The exhibition runs until June 2 http://buryartmuseum.co.uk/Sculpture-Centre-Exhibitions.

The Irwell Sculpture Trail runs Bacup to Salford Quays and features over 70 artworks.
