Leveson moves to RSC

Andrew Leveson, director of finance and administration at the Bridge Theatre in London, is to be the next executive director of the Royal Shakespeare Company.

He will succeed Catherine Mallyon at the end of April.

Leveson had been a corporate lawyer before reverting to his first love, the theatre, as a freelance director and producer. He joined the London Theatre Company at the Bridge on its formation in 2015 at first as general manager and oversaw its opening in 2017.

“We are inspired by his ambitions for the company, as well as his deep love of theatre” co-artistic directors Tamara Harvey and Daniel Evans said of Leveson. “The vast experience and knowledge he has gained as an integral part of the team at the Bridge Theatre will be vital as we begin this new chapter at the RSC.”
